WINS THE COMPETITION FOR REDEVELOPMENT OF SCHOOL INSTITUTE IN BORGO SAN GIUSEPPE IN CUNEO
At the end of January, the provisional awarding of the competition for the project “Construction of new schools by replacing buildings” planned under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU, was confirmed. The award involves a Temporary Grouping of Professionals, with Politecna Europa as the lead contractor, and Benedetto Camerana Studio and Ansaldi as partners.
The project for new School Institute in Borgo San Giuseppe involves reconstruction of a single complex that will accommodate two school levels: a primary school and a lower secondary school, becoming the new landmark of urban center. The new complex will be part of a broader transformation of the city area and will include redevelopment of park in front of the institute, which will also serve as a gathering point for community.
This is a hybrid project, spatially and culturally rich with various functions that blend and interact. The sought-after spatial quality adopts sustainable and ecological construction solutions of a modular and dry type, conceived with a fully wooden frame, defining an “environment-friendly” project that also meets safety standards required by current seismic, thermal, and acoustic regulations.
The spaces harmoniously interact with each other and with urban park, featuring new green paths, resting areas, and themed playground spaces, serving as a filter between covered square and the semi-public and educational functions.
