Biennale di Pisa 2019 – TEMPODACQUA
Inaugurates the Biennale of Pisa 2019. The arch. Camerana invited to contribute to TEMPODACQUA with the presentation of a concept being developed in the area of the Strait of Messina. A 3km Watrfront overlooking the completely redesigned Calabria coast.
“Throw your bread on the water, because after a long time you will find it again”
Quohelet II, I
Taken from the Ecclesiastes, it expresses the meaning and at the same time the form that the theme of the Biennale of Pisa proposes for its third edition.
Imagine a time when water will be memory and present.
Imagine its use and reuse.
Inventing buildings that restore their purity.
Allow water to pass through neighborhoods, but also houses and buildings.
Design it on the verticality of the towers. Tame it, love it, respect it.
In a real place, at the Republican Arsenals of Pisa, we imagined a space that could accommodate a possible, constructable, coherent architecture, in which water is a project material.
We thought of a continent, turned into an island, Pangea, transformed
and transformable over time, metaphor of the city of Pisa, first lapped by the sea, now crossed by the river.
