ARWE EXHIBITION SET-UPS: SPACE, COHERENCE, PLURALITY

Exhibition design, and doing it well, often means shaping a space without imposing on the works, building relationships between solids and voids. An effective display accompanies the narrative without overpowering it, making complexity legible by showcasing diverse languages. These are the principles that guided our work for ARWE.

ARWE is a major international event promoted by the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti in Turin, funded by the PNRR (National Network for the Promotion of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism). The event promotes artistic research, interdisciplinary practices, and the internationalization of the Italian system of higher education in art, music, and dance. It invites nearly 200 exhibitors from around the world. The event involves 21 Italian academies and 27 international institutions, from Lebanon to Ukraine, Egypt to Kenya, China, Japan, and Australia. This system of exhibitions and events intertwines visual arts, design, film, performing arts, sound, and new technologies, aiming to revitalize and strengthen the role of academies as places of contemporary cultural research and production. The program includes exhibitions, video installations, immersive performances, meetings and workshops, conferences, and social projects. Participants include figures such as Michelangelo Pistoletto and Stelarc, an Australian artist and pioneer of the use of robotic prosthetics in performance
