Urban redevelopment
Unify the image of the medieval historic center by creating a system of continuous and interconnected pedestrian public spaces. An “urban landscaping” operation that involves reflections on the volumetric perceptions of spaces, the introduction of alignments, green areas and backdrops, the demolition of superfetations, architectural restoration interventions, new buildings and the study of the new urban pavement, which defines a series of spaces in harmonic sequence in which the design reverberates from the main squares to the internal courtyards. Two interventions of new construction. A glass volume attached by a steel supporting structure to the south and west elevations of the Civic Theater, acts as a “filter area” and houses an additional staircase and habitable “boxes”, hanging from the internal steel structure. A project with a dual function is carried out near the parish: a concrete plate acts as a cover for a covered parking lot, at the same time constituting the playing surface of the sports field above, where a metal perimeter skin and the wide access stairway in wood define a place of aggregation and rest.
